Application Deadline Extended to July 2 for 2010-2011 Fielding DPPE Certificate Pgm
Here's a message from Linda Blong at Fielding University about their award-winning DPPE Certificate program that may be of interest and that we've blogged about previously:
I want to let you all know that Fielding's Institute for Social Innovation has extended the deadline for applications for sponsorships to participate in the award winning DDPE program that begins in August 2010. Here is some information about the program and sponsorships:
Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement Certificate (DDPE)
August 16, 2010 – January 18, 2011
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Deadline Extended to July 2, 2010
The dialogue, deliberation, and public engagement certificate helps you build mastery by working with a scholar-practitioner model of collaborative learning and reflective practice. An exceptional faculty of scholar-practitioners who do real world work in diverse contexts and cultures, will support your learning and provide coaching for a culminating capstone project over 19 weeks of online, telephone, and 2 face to face workshops.
You should participate in this program and its on-going community of practice if you want to:
· Learn about the field of dialogue and deliberation in conversation with those who are leading and shaping it;
· Engage in structured, collaborative critical self-reflection focused on you as a practitioner;
· Analyze specific situations and chose wisely what dialogic, deliberative or engagement process is most appropriate;
· Understand how dialogic and deliberative processes work in some situations but not in others;
· Develop diagnostic, design, and in-the-moment facilitation skills;
· Explore conceptual and theoretical foundations of dialogic and deliberative practice; and,
· Belong to an international community of practice of like-minded people.
This program is available for 8 academic graduate credits.
