April 12 Panel on Public Participation and Global Sustainability

If you're attending the APA National Conference (from April 11-14 in New Orleans), please join me at the panel presentation/discussion being sponsored by APA's International Division on the topic "Global Lessons for Sustainability."  I'll be presenting along with Canadian public participation consultant Rick Delaney from RM Delaney and Associates, and Australian author and practitioner/consultant Wendy Sarkissian.

The session will take place on Monday, April 12 at 230pm.  Here's more about the focus:

Sustainability has permeated the contemporary consciousness.  Within the planning world, public governments, the private sector, and academic institutions are all working to implement sustainability and lead the public in achieving significant progress.  This is based on the recognition that it will require a continuous effort of the general public to achieve and maintain sustainable planning benchmarks.  This session provides international case studies that investigate the growing importance of community participation in the successful implementation of sustainable planning.

Looking forward to your participation in this great conversation!
