The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Reclaiming Futures project today announced a free webinar this week on youth civic engagement. Reclaiming Futures is an RWJF National Program and is creating a new pathway for treating teens caught in the cycle of drugs, alcohol, and crime - the juvenile justice system.
According to the announcement, "Reclaiming Futures is sponsoring a webinar with Constance Flanagan, Ph.D. on Youth Civic Engagement Thursday, June 8 at 2 p.m. ET. Flanagan is a professor of youth civic development at Penn State University. Her program, "Adolescents and the social contract," concerns the factors in families, schools and communities that promote civic values and competencies in young people. During this webinar Flanagan will provide an overview of the critical building blocks needed for successful civic engagement by youth."
